Well this week has been good. I'll start off by saying that my filipino companion Elder Casano is determined not to let me have only a minor part in the lessons that we're teaching so i get to give either half or most of the lesson to teach. But the lessons so far havnt been to bad and i can feel the Spirit helping me with my Tagalog and helping me know what the investigator needs and addressing that need all in Tagalog! So we had this one lesson with a guy by the name of **** who has read the Book of Mormon all the way through, comes to church every sunday and is a wonderful investigator but he cannot give up smoking. He tries and tries but he just cant break his habit. So in our last lesson with him i felt prompted to be bold with him. So i brought up 1 Nephi 3:7 and said that God would not give the word of wisdom to us if he knew that we couldnt follow it. I also said that if he really wanted to be baptized that he would stop smoking. I also promised him that if he said his morning and nightly prayers and red the Book of Mormon everyday that he would not have the desire to smoke. He took it pretty well and hopefully hes stopped.
Yes my old area was sad to see me leave and especially Elder Regala (my old companion who stayed in the area) because me and him were really good friends. My new house is a little bit smaller but only me and my companion live there whereas in my old area we had the zone leaders living with us. A little smaller but alot more cockroaches like i said in my last letter. Me and my new companion get along really well and we are good friends. All he does is speak Tagalog to me so it is a blessing as well because it helps me with the Tagalog and the accent also. My new area is a lot more beautiful than my last area and i like it alot better also. The people here are alot more receptive also here.
So we have like a cat infestation in front of our house. We give them the leftovers from our meals and put it out front for them to eat so around noon and 9:00 pm we hear this constant whining of the cats out front wanting food. Ive also named the three cats Laman, Sam, and Nephi. I call the one Laman because he is always complaining and is never satisfied with what we give him. Sam because he's usually quiet and stays back. Nephi because he's pretty nice and isnt that loud or complaining.
