MISSIONARY:
Someone who leaves their family for a short time so that others may be with their families for eternity

Thursday, February 18, 2010

This is just a note to let you know that Elder Robbins arrived safely here in the Quezon City mission this afternoon. He has been assigned to his new companion and his new area. We look forward to working with him.

As a side note, if you decide to send any packages to your elder, please do so via the U.S. Postal Service International Flat Rate Box. I believe the box costs $41.95. It's not very big, but you can put anything in there you want to - weight doesn't matter - so stuff it full. When you ship via the post office, we pay 35 pesos (about 75 cents) in customs duties. If you send via FEDEX, they will almost always tack on anywhere from 1200 to 3600 pesos as duties, no matter what is inside. As an added precaution to excessive and undeserved duty charges, if you put a picture of the Savior over the sealed opening on the box, the customs people usually won't even open it as they're very superstitious. They don't want to tear the picture. Our mailing address for packages is: P.O. Box 13873 Ortigas Center, Pasig City 1600, MM Philippines. If you don't want to use the post office, the next best idea is LBC if that's available in your area. In that case, our address would be 1403 Robinsons Equitable Tower, #4 ADB Ave. cor Poveda St., Ortigas Center Pasig City 1605, MM Philippines.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me. That's what mission mothers are for.

Attached please find some pictures of your Elder.

Blessings,
Sister Ho Ching
